Canned Food Drive
Posted on 11/10/2021
Hello Everyone! All schools are being asked to participate in a district-wide holiday non-perishable food drive hosted by PHS Student Council Association. All food items collected will be donated to our local food pantries in Roosevelt County and the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico. The food drive will run from November 15th - December 13th.
Each school will have a goal of 750 food items per grade level. For example, PHS houses four (4) grade levels. Their minimum goal is to collect at least 3,000 non-perishable food items. All other school buildings house two (2) grade levels. Therefore, their minimum goal is to collect at least 1,500 non-perishable food items. The district-wide goal is to collect 12,000 non-perishable food items.
All items will be collected in your homeroom.
PHS Student Council will arrange to pick up and deliver all donated food items to the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico and local church food pantries on 12/15 and/or 12/16. If all schools can make sure all donations are transported to their school gym/cafeteria by the end of the day on 12/14. This will help make the pick-up process run more smoothly.
If collectively the district donates 12,000 food items or more all schools will be awarded the day off on 12/17; the Friday before the Holiday break.
